Darrell has over 40 years experience in the addiction/co-disorder/recovery field. He remains compassionate about helping people struggling with addiction. Graduated from Nova University in Florida with a Masters Degree. Strong believer in treating people with dignity and respect. Uses Motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavior Therapy in guiding people through their recovery journey. Specializes in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and helping people understand about building anchors in their life while changing to be productive members to their family and community.

Darrell served 20 years in law enforcement and understands all sides of living with the challenges of a substance use disorder. Darrell is currently a certified forensic evaluator for the State of North Carolina and the Director of the MAT program at the Cherokee County Detention Center. Believes in looking for a “golden thread of good in everyone and meets people where they are at.” Darrell will soon be a certified gambling use disorder counselor in order to have Another Way Recovery lead the way in helping people with this disorder. Darrell takes pride in leading his clinical team to give the very best personalized treatment available. Feels “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
