Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are peer-led mutual aid fellowships dedicated to abstinence-based recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction, respectively. Evidence from multiple research studies supports the effectiveness and practical importance of AA and NA Meetings are a key component of these programs, where individuals gather to discuss recovery and support each other in their journey towards sobriety. The value of these meetings lies in the sense of community and support they provide, as well as the opportunity to share experiences and learn from others who have gone through similar struggles. SAMHSA’s National Helpline provides information and resources for individuals seeking help for substance abuse problems.
